The Fowey Harbour Commissioners answer to their Port Users who shape their policies and strategic direction. To facilitate this, the Commissioners work closely with the Fowey Port User Group (PUG). They are an independent group, and their members represent the varied stakeholders using Fowey Harbour, including commercial and leisure interests and local and parish councils, to name but a few.

The group are seeking a Chair and request applications or nominations for this position. The person should be comfortable to run proceedings and have a neutral status to ensure the meetings remain unbiased.

This is a voluntary role, without renumeration. The group meet formally twice a year with additional meetings as necessary. The group are provided with administrative support by Fowey Harbour Commissioners.

The input of the Port User Group is highly valued by the Commission and is used to shape the policy and strategic direction of Fowey Harbour. The group are a statutory consultee to the process of producing General Directions; this was formalised though the Fowey Harbour Revision Order.
